ARE THOSE BRICKARMS PROTOTYPES?

Intrepid reporters Kevoh and Matty are on the scene at Brickworld 2011 outside Chicago, Illinois. Tonight featured a keynote by some LEGOLAND dude talking about LEGOLAND Florida, which is gonna be pretty bitching, so long as you are 2-12 years old.

But the real star of the night was Q&A with Jim Foulds, the dulcet-toned Community Representative guy who is not quite Steve Witt (where'd he go anyway? We asked, and all they said was "Steve Witt is no longer with The LEGO Group") We didn't take notes but we have pretty ace memory so here are the important.

Q: Is LEGO Universe going to focus on adults?
A: No, Christ!

Q: Why does the Maersk train have buffers?
A: [guy yelling from audience] because LEGO hates you! [you=matty]

Q: You know... you know when colors... they used to be different? They-they, were browner? Is that coming back? Because sometimes your old parts don't match?
A: No. [twee answer: Christ who let the kids ask questions?]

Then there was a period of absolutely inane questions (9 volt trains? Monorail? Remember when gears were yellow? When is M-Tron coming back? Are they going to go back to wooden cars?)

Then we were hungry and left to get pizza. Kevoh resisted because he was sure that kid was gonna ask a whopper soon enough. With us are twee interns NickDean and Lukas. They've been very knowledgeable; directing us to pizza, flipping windshield wipers on, speaking German, &c.

JOIN US TOMORROW! WE'LL BE HERE ALL WEEKEND, GETTING THE INSIDE SCOOP!
